Trials, seats and billing

The trial takes no card. Seats are per person, and setters are free.

The free trial

A new workspace starts on a free trial with no card on file.

Nothing is charged automatically when it ends, and nothing renews behind your back, because there is nothing to renew.

When the trial runs out the workspace locks and the owner is offered a subscription.

Seats

A subscription is priced per seat.

Every member consumes a seat except setters, who are free. You can staff outbound without paying closer prices for it.

A seat is taken the moment you invite somebody, not when they accept, so an invitation that is still pending is already holding one. Revoking it gives the seat back.

Promoting a free role to a paid one needs a free seat. Turning a setter into a rep, a manager, an admin or an owner is a new person to bill for, so the paid options on that member's row are greyed out and marked (needs a seat) when there is none spare. Moving between two paid roles costs nothing, because that person is already paid for and the headcount does not move.

Who can do what

  • Owner only: subscribing, adding seats, cancelling.
  • Admin: can see the current state (plan, seat count, whether a renewal failed) but cannot change it.
  • Manager, rep, setter: nothing at all. The page renders a short denial and never loads any numbers.

The split exists because the risk with billing is not access, it is continuity. If a card dies while the owner is away, an admin watching the workspace suspend itself should at least see why.

If payment fails

A failed renewal eventually suspends the workspace.

Data is not deleted. The app locks and points the owner at billing. Fixing the payment method restores it.
